The problem
Creating real TV channels on Roku and Amazon Fire used to mean opaque vendor workflows and technical overhead. Creators and operators needed a way to stand up channels, schedule content, and monitor performance without a broadcast engineering team.
The solution
TVBoss Fire is a streaming SaaS that turns channel creation into a guided web experience — backend services for metadata and scheduling, Angular UI for day-to-day management, and API integrations that automate Roku and Fire TV setup.
What we built
- →Node.js backend tuned for streaming workloads and channel lifecycle APIs
- →Angular front-end for channel creation, scheduling, and content uploads
- →MongoDB data layer for channel and content metadata at scale
- →Roku and Amazon Fire TV API integrations for automated channel provisioning
- →Scheduling tools, upload flows, and performance monitoring dashboards
- →End-to-end testing across devices for compatibility and reliability
Outcomes
- ✓200+ customers using the live platform at tvbossfire.net
- ✓Real TV channels creatable in minutes from the web app
- ✓Secure infrastructure for real-time channel updates and high availability
- ✓UX aimed at non-technical channel owners
How it shipped
A channel on Roku or Fire TV is a set of metadata, a schedule, and a device API that fails in quiet ways. TVBoss Fire hides that behind a web flow: create the channel, upload the content, set the schedule, and read whether the device accepted it. Node services own the channel lifecycle. Angular is the day-to-day screen. MongoDB holds the metadata. The device calls were tested on real hardware, not only in Postman.
The product was in customers' hands in 12 days and passed 200 accounts on tvbossfire.net. The people using it are channel owners, not broadcast engineers, so the screens name the task instead of the API. Updates to a live channel go through the same path as the first publish.
